Let's Start at the beginning...

So blogging hasn't been at the top of my list this summer. There have been too many nice days and too many visitors to warrant much time at the computer. So here we go, way back in May we took our first trip of the summer to the cabin at Seldovia and had a wonderful time.

 Enjoying the beach and wishing the water was warm enough to swim.  Hunter became an expert on rock throwing.

 It was so nice to get to spend so much time with Dad. We can never get enough of that!

 It is also wonderful for Grandma bonding time.  The hammock was a perfect place to relax.

 Grandpa doing the start of the year maintenance at the cabin. Hunter loved to supervise all things that Grandpa was doing and Grandma loved to supervise what Hunter was doing, it all worked out quite nicely.

Taking naps in the sun. I couldn't resist taking this picture of Mark and his dad. They both were asleep in the grass with hats over their faces hand across their bellies and not a care in the world.

Hunter absolutely LOVED the beach. Rocks and sand, what more could a little guy want. We thought we could take many walks on the beach but it was hard to get him to budge once he found his perfect spot to dig.

Grandma was more than happy to assist in the digging process.

When we did want to walk it usually involved carrying him on the shoulders or in the backpack to avoid stopping every 2 steps.

Fortunately, he loves his life vest, boots, hat, and rain coat. All a must in AK summers.

He quickly fell asleep with the rocking of the boat and the hum of the motor. He was a great sport while we caught our limit of halibut, despite the somewhat choppy seas.

He was very interested in our fish and even learned to say "fishy" on this trip.

It was time again for the annual chainsaw carving competition. It always amazes me the detail of the things they create with the huge chain saw.  We could hear the constant hum of chainsaws across the bay the whole weekend.

These are just a few of the many awesome creations from this year.

It was a great way to start out the summer.
