Mark and his best friend Paul went on an epic sheep hunt this fall.
108 miles were covered. 48 miles hiking and 60 of floating in freezing cold water. It started in the fall
and quickly turned to winter.
They made up games out of m&m's and their maps when they were hulled up in the tent.
Despite freezing temperatures they were successful. Paul got his first
and they packed it out.
Mark's came a day later and after a bunch more hiking.
Mark's was a "double broomer" which means both horn-tips have been broken off. I thought he might be sad about that but it is actually a desirable characteristic. It is legal, and he says that any legal sheep at this point was worth shooting!
He added a big brown bear to the mix for good measure. We were thankful to have him home safe and some meat in the freezer.
The boys were so happy to see Mark. For Bennett it took several minutes for him to realize who he was, the hunting beard totally threw him off. Once he realized it was Dad he didn't want to be set down.
Hunter loves helping with the meat, teach them young!
