Fourth of July Fishing

Over the 4th of July weekend, Lauren's older brother and nephew accompanied us on a trip to Seldovia. We had a wonderful time and were able to go out halibut fishing twice. Both times we were able to catch a bunch of fish, including halibut, cod, skates, flounder, and Irish lords. We even were able to see and hear whales while out on the water.

It was a fun and memorable trip. We hope that Chris enjoyed it enough that he entertains seriously the idea of moving up to Alaska. Earlier in the week we went on a wildlife cruise with Lauren's parent, all of her siblings, and their children. It was a picture perfect day and we were Lucky enough to see whales, sea lions, glaciers, birds, porpoises, sea otters, and a black bear. Her nephew was able to take an amazing shot of one of the humpback whales breaching.
