Hunter Turns 2

ITS GREAT TO BE 2!
Hunter turned 2 recently and we are so grateful to have him as our son.  His birthday started with a pancake breakfast.  He must be a growing boy because he had 4 pancakes and probably asked for more.

Then he had 2 birthday moose in the yard. For this kid that is a perfect birthday present.

Hunter is attempting a moose call in this picture.

If you don't know what I am talking about watch this video from YouTube.

Taught to him by his father who you see doing the call in this picture.

I made him some simple birthday cupcakes. I like to believe he is making a wish in this picture...a wish for more cupcakes maybe...
Then we took him bowling. At first he sat quietly taking it all in.

Then he helped Dad or Mom push the ball down the ramp.  He usually lost interest before it even got half way down the lane. He got very frustrated when I wouldn't let him kick the ball down the alley.  It was for his own good but he didn't see it that way.

Grandma and Grandpa Hamm joined us. Bennett got held for a minute or two but chose to thankfully sleep through the rest so we didn't have to expose him to all the bowling alley germs.

Hunter lost interest by about frame 4 but still had lots of things to explore.
And when he found the air blowing he was hooked.

Pure Joy!
On Sunday we had a birthday party with a Cars cake provided by Aunt Megan.  She had my mom order it because things were so stressful with Bennett I couldn't concentrate on much else.

He loved the cake!  Plus he got two new cars off of it so that was an added bonus!
The cover was kept on while he admired it so that everyone could enjoy a piece that hadn't been smeared by Hunter.

Grandmas and Grandpas came to celebrate. There were more trains for his set, an electronic monster truck, Chuggington movie, and new Boggs snow boots that he loves to wear all the time whether inside or out.
A little update about Hunter:

-Hunter is now in the 95% for height and weight. He says over 150 words and phrases.
-He can run, jump, spin, dance, and skip. He is extremely active but also loves to watch shows.
- He loves to eat everything that we eat and some favorites are salmon, rice, green beans, water, cereal, and of course fruit snacks and such.
-He loves it when his grandparents come to visit or he gets to go to their houses.
-He loves to read books and sing songs and actually has great musicality.
-He has the most wonderful laugh.
-He loves the iPad and can use it better than a lot of adults.
- He also LOVES matchbox cars, trains, and Alaskan animals.
-He is very sweet and loving and will give hugs and kisses.
-Hunter loves to be outside no matter the weather and is great at bundling up for the cold winter.
- He loves to go skiing in the chariot behind dad and often calls our "one more time!"
- He has his moments of stubbornness but is usually quick to correct when asked or distracted by something else.
-He has moved himself into a big boy bed and does an ok job of staying in it.
We love him and are so grateful he is Happy and Healthy!

That was really sweet of Megan to order the cake, very cute! Looks like Hunter had a great birthday with lots of fun. We're so glad he's part of the family and he's so lucky to have you and Mark as parents.
